Wheezing, chest tightness or a cough that won’t go away? A PFT test in Surat is a simple breathing test that shows how well your lungs are working. It’s also called a pulmonary function test in Surat, a lung function test or a spirometry test in Surat.

Takes about 2 minutes. Our team will call you back to confirm your visit.

What Does a PFT Measure?

A PFT (also called spirometry) measures:

  • How much air you can breathe out
  • How fast you can breathe it out
  • Whether your airways are narrowed, as in asthma

This helps the doctor check for asthma and see how your airways are working, and track how well your treatment is working over time. The doctor reads a PFT together with your symptoms, history and examination, never on its own.

Who Needs a PFT?

The doctor may advise a PFT if you have:

How the Test Is Done

  1. You sit comfortably and a soft clip is placed on your nose.
  2. You breathe in deeply, then blow out as hard and fast as you can into a mouthpiece connected to a machine.
  3. This is repeated a few times to get an accurate reading.
  4. The doctor may ask you to repeat it after using an inhaler, to compare.

It does not hurt. Some people feel a little tired or light-headed for a moment from the deep breathing.
